Tour Description

Day 01

A morning flight from mainland Ecuador to Baltra island. Your Naturalist Guide will receive you at the airport and assist you across the Canal to Santa Cruz island, the adventure starts immediately, with lunch among giants at Manzanillo Ranch. Here you will be greeted by the iconic species of Galapagos, the Giant Land Tortoises. Enter the underground lava tunnels to learn how these islands were formed. Continue to the bustling town of Puerto Ayora, where you’ll check into your hotel and enjoy a tasty dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 02

A morning departure in a private speed boat will transport you to the largest island of the archipelago, Isabela. With a population of 3000 people in its main village, Puerto Villamil, here you will truly enjoy the island atmosphere of stretching beaches and palm trees. Upon arrival and check in at the hotel, unwind with a stroll along the sandy streets. You’ll visit the giant tortoise breeding center to observe and learn of the repopulation efforts of these emblematic species. Next, hike along a rustic trail to the flamingo lagoon. The sunsets in Isabela are unforgettable, so grab a cold drink and a seat at a beachside bar.

Day 03

I hope you rested up yesterday, because another early morning awaits us for the volcano hike! Riding a shuttle through the agricultural sector and to the base of the volcano, here you’ll start a hike of 18 Km that will last 5 hours approximately. Don’t forget your camera, you can observe geological formations and witness one of the biggest calderas of an active volcano, an experience like no other. A specially-prepared lunch will be served at a private ranch, a perfect spot to relax after the hike. Back to town and enjoy your free afternoon as you wish, have a swim, take pictures, or relax in a hammock.

Day 04

This morning you’ll board the private boat to Floreana Island, Puerto Velasco Ibarra has the smallest communities of the 4 populated islands of the Galapagos, less than 200 people call Floreana “home.” Upon arrival, stretch your legs with a short hike to Loberia beach and cool off with a snorkel in the bay. Lunch is served at a locally-owned restaurant. This afternoon we’ll board a small bus and go to the highlands to learn about the settlement and human history of Floreana, as well as the murder mystery and Pirate myths. We’ll continue on the private boat this afternoon to San Cristobal Island.

Day 05

Your first day in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno is filled with kayak/paddle baording in the bay, and a lovely snorkel and hike at Loberia beach. Which activity comes first? The ocean tides will decide. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch in a nearby restaurant and a rest between today’s activities.

Day 06

Today includes some of the best snorkeling in Galapagos, a day trip to Kicker Rock! After breakfast, a comfortable speed boat navigates along the coast of San Cristobal, boasting views of the birds and landscape from a different angle. At the rock formation, we’ll snorkel thru the channel in search of a variety of sharks, fish, turtles, rays, sea lions, and more! Enjoy a box lunch on the boat afterward, and some quiet beach time to relax before returning to town.

Day 07

Today you’ll explore the highlands of San Cristobal! A private truck will deposit you at the base of a tall hill, surrounded by endemic miconia and mist. Climb the wooden stairs and enjoy the views. At the top, among the fog, you’ll see the only freshwater lagoon in Galapagos. Watch frigate birds clean the salt from their wings by swooping to the surface of the water, or enjoy the vegetation by hiking along the brim of the crater. No swimming here! Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center of San Cristobal, your last chance for taking photos of these iconic species. We’ll continue on to our private family farm, where a hearty and organic lunch is made just for you! Rest in a hammock or take a stroll around the farm, tasting fresh fruits, photographing flowers, and even get a sampling of organic coffee, grown right here on Birdsong Farm!

Day 08

Discover an unihabited island today! A 2-hour navigation brings us to our first activity: snorkel in Islote Gardner. Search for starfish littering the ocean floor, a rainbow of reef fish, sea lions, sea turtles, rays, and even Galapagos sharks! Back on board, enjoy a cup of organic coffee from our very own farm as the crew prepares a delicious lunch. Continuing on to the next site, Suarez Point, we’ll disembark on the sandy coast and lace us our shoes for the birdwatching hike (1.2 miles). Endemic Albatross, Española Mockingbirds, Nazca Boobies, Galapagos Doves, Galapagos Hawks, and colonies of marine iguanas await you! Back on board we return to town in time for the sunset.

Day 09

We’ll assist you in returning to the airport on San Cristobal island, checking in and wishing you safe travels as you continue your journey in Guayaquil or Quito and beyond.
